Evaluation

The gothic urban legends project has been interesting to do, although I have found it hard to research around my chosen urban legend and gather relevant imagery that will help me develop my ideas.

In the research area of my work I feel there definitely could be some improvements as I don't feel i did enough initial research to gather a strong idea of what make up look I would be creating. I think that the imagery I collected and my other sources were useful though and gave me the ability to get a rough idea of where i was going to develop my urban legend looks. I feel perhaps my development stage was stronger as I had more drawings and visual reference, this helped me to understand how I could do my look and where else I could develop further.

I feel perhaps I should have tested out my looks and done more testing with makeup rather than going just from my drawings and not a lot of testing involved. I feel this would then maybe created a stronger final outcome and perhaps would have been 'neater' or better.

I feel like my final outcomes are actually quite strong though and reflect what I wanted to create considering I feel like I fell down more in this project for research. I feel perhaps this is down to my enthusiasm over fashion based makeup, as I was a lot more enthusiastic with doing a film based makeup over a fashion based one. I feel if I could have created a character look for a film then I would have created a better research ground. I think this is where my heart and inspiration lies more as I have found it hard to 'get into' this project. Although I wasn't so inspired by the project its-self I feel i have learnt some valuable skills in makeup and have learnt a lot through doing this.

Some initial drawings of one of my ideas for a character look I really like the idea of bloody hands as if shes tryed to escape and has been left with marks as its not obvious what it could mean or why she has bloody hands. I think this is the idea I will take into my final look for one of my characters

This is perhaps more a look id go for trying to achieve I prefer the mixture of browns and blacks with the greens rather than just the green as it gives a more earthly feel rather than monster feel. perhaps i could try using the same effect and lines here (texture) on the face as well and create a more abstract makeup

Just an idea on colour scheme that i could use, I dont really like this look as its a bit monster like and perhaps needs some more browns and pinks to make it look more make up style and better.. perhaps use the green in another makeup look though as i think it could give an earthy look to it!

Collected some images of bloody hands for my next character look, I feel this would look quite effective holding the hands up to the face and having them all bloody. I will have to think about what I could use for the face as well and see if I could do anything else.. Perhaps develop this idea further or see where else my research takes me

Using Ellie Goulding video anything could happen as inspiration as a way of seeing a suttle way of doing the make up for a look
